At Hyatt Regency hotel on 5 October 2026, Cham Nimol, Minister of Commerce, presided over the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Wine, Spirit and Beer Importers and Distributors Association (WSBIDA) and the International Alliance for Responsible Drinking (IARD). The ceremony focused on a joint initiative to promote standards of responsible retail, attended by representatives of IARD, WSBIDA, the private sector, ministry leaders and many national and international guests.
On that occasion, the Minister of Commerce expressed her congratulations and stressed that this initiative is important for raising retailers' awareness and building staff capacity, in line with Cambodia's direction of building responsible markets, protecting consumers and ensuring fair competition.
She also reaffirmed the Ministry of Commerce's full support and encouraged all stakeholders to translate this commitment into concrete actions, ensuring that all business activities comply with applicable laws and regulations. By: Pai Sokhim
