On 07 October 2026, General Sao Sokha, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie nationwide, met with and handed over duties as "Acting Commander" of the Royal Gendarmerie Command of Pursat Province to Colonel Sok Meng Long.
This temporary leadership assignment is to replace Brigadier General Puth Ly, who has reached retirement age.
It should also be noted that before being entrusted with this new position, Colonel Sok Meng Long had previously served as Deputy Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie Command of Preah Sihanouk Province.
