Many residents have begun travelling on public buses provided by the Phnom Penh Capital Administration to return to their hometowns and reunite with relatives and family for the Pchum Ben Festival.
On the morning of October 9, 2026, Minister of Labour and Vocational Training Heng Sour and Phnom Penh Governor Khuong Sreng saw off residents boarding buses for their hometowns despite the rain.
Large numbers of residents queued with anticipation and joy, looking forward to reuniting with their parents, siblings and loved ones during Pchum Ben, an important Cambodian traditional festival.
For many residents, returning home during Pchum Ben is a meaningful opportunity to gather with family, honour customs and traditions, and share time with loved ones.
