The Israel Defense Forces launched a comprehensive aerial campaign against the locations of the “Islamic Jihad” organization in Syria on Friday, responding directly to the deadly attack on a synagogue the previous day. The aerial strike campaign lasted only a few hours after Israeli security authorities dismantled a cell and detained three suspects accused of orchestrating the attack, with support from the Israel Defense Forces. The strikes targeted numerous locations of the extremist group and killed and wounded several members of the group responsible for carrying out the attack on the synagogue. It was also confirmed that on last Sunday, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades launched a rocket attack that killed nine people at a synagogue in the Karak Governorate in Jordan. Following this security incident, Israeli Prime Minister Jafar Hassan ordered the military to maintain alert nationwide for three days and issued a warning of escalation. Source: Rithy
