On January 30, Thailand’s Cybercrime Investigation Command raided a 24-hour car-battery shop in Bangkok’s Don Mueang district, dismantling a covert operation alleged to provide money-laundering services for the online gambling platform DG888. Police seized about 3.8 million baht in cash, reported as approximately US$110,000, and arrested two suspects. Police said the shop ostensibly bought and sold car batteries but had long been laundering and transferring funds, making it an important money-laundering node in the online-gambling criminal network. Investigations into the money flows and people behind the operation were continuing. Compiled reporting by KPS99TV.
