The National Polytechnic Institute of Angkor (NPIA) in Siem Reap province has announced enrolment for the 2026–2027 academic year, offering a path for young people who have just completed the upper-secondary graduation examination, known as Bac II.
The two-year higher technical diploma programmes cover seven fields: electrical engineering, civil engineering, electronics engineering, mechatronics, automotive mechanical engineering, refrigeration engineering, and information technology and science. According to the report, these fields equip trainees to work in institutions, factories and private enterprises or establish their own businesses.
The institute follows curricula aligned with international standards and cooperates with Singapore, the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and a Ford vehicle assembly company. It says the programmes ensure that students gain practical skills suited to current and future labour market needs.
In the 2025–2026 academic year, the institute trained 1,324 students, including 172 women. Of these, 581 second-year students, including 86 women, had prepared to sit their final examinations on August 14, 2026, the report said.
The range of technical programmes also supports the government’s “One Youth, One Skill” policy to build a genuinely qualified workforce. By choosing skills that match their talents and interests, young people can strengthen their competitiveness in the labour market and gain access to decent jobs and stable, sustainable incomes.
