Cambodia has taken another new step in promoting cultural diplomacy and promoting Khmer national identity in the Republic of Bulgaria and the Balkans, through the official launch of "Cambodian Corner - Books, Arts and Cultural Heritage" at the National Library "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" on October 16, 2026, in the city of Sofia, Republic of Bulgaria. This is according to a publication by the Ministry of Information on October 17, 2026.
The launch ceremony was held in cooperation between the Embassy of the Kingdom of Cambodia to the Republic of Bulgaria and the National Library of Bulgaria, with the participation of ambassadors, envoys, representatives of various diplomatic missions based in Sofia, library leaders, representatives of educational institutions, and many distinguished guests.
It should be noted that the creation of "Cambodian Corner" is not only about displaying Cambodian books and artworks in the important national library of Bulgaria, but also about creating a place to disseminate knowledge about Khmer history, civilization, literature, arts, and cultural heritage to the Bulgarian public and researchers in the Balkans.
