British police announced yesterday, Tuesday, that they had re-arrested two men suspected of helping Iran’s intelligence service plan an attack at a US air base in the United Kingdom last month.
Counterterrorism police said the men were a 24-year-old British national and a 25-year-old dual British and Iranian national, arrested under the National Security Act.
During the operation, police evacuated hundreds of residents from homes near the base and found petrol containers in three vehicles at the scene, but no explosives.
In response, Iran denied involvement, although it had previously said that any base used to attack its territory would be a legitimate target. Article by: រិទ្ធី
