Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and President of the People’s Republic of China, has sent a letter of thanks to Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia, for his congratulatory letter on the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
In the letter, Xi Jinping expressed his sincere gratitude to Samdech Techo Hun Sen and emphasised the great importance he attached to developing Cambodia–China friendly relations, which are based on traditional friendship, trust and mutual support.
The Chinese President expressed his readiness to maintain strategic communication with Samdech Techo Hun Sen to jointly promote traditional friendship and achieve further progress in building an all-weather Cambodia–China community with a shared future in the new era.
Cambodia and China have a long tradition of friendship and cooperation and have continued to strengthen collaboration in many fields, including politics, diplomacy, the economy, trade, investment, infrastructure, education, tourism, and cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
Economic and trade cooperation has contributed to Cambodia’s socioeconomic development, while investment and infrastructure connectivity have created new opportunities for development and improved livelihoods.
At the same time, both sides have continued to support each other on issues of common interest and promote people-to-people exchanges to deepen understanding, trust and friendship.
Through the letter, Xi Jinping also expressed his intention to continue promoting cooperation between the two countries to advance their respective modernisation and bring greater benefits to the Cambodian and Chinese peoples.
At the end of the letter, Xi Jinping wished Samdech Techo Hun Sen good health and continued success in fulfilling his noble duties.
The letter reflects the continued friendship and attention of the two countries’ leaders to advancing their comprehensive strategic partnership and building a Cambodia–China community with a shared future for the long-term benefit of both countries and their peoples. By Sopheak
