Cambodia is actively preparing to host the 20th Francophonie Summit, a historic regional and international event. It is preparing to deploy nearly 20,000 law enforcement personnel to ensure security, safety and public order for national and international delegations.

At a meeting to review the draft security plan on the morning of November 2, 2026, at the Friendship Building of the Office of the Council of Ministers, Deputy Prime Minister Net Savoeun, co-chair of the National Organizing Committee for the summit, stated that Cambodia was fully capable of ensuring the safety of heads of state, heads of government and senior leaders from more than 90 countries, including Emmanuel Macron, President of France.

Net Savoeun instructed all relevant ministries and institutions, as well as the capital and provincial administrations, to work closely together on security, public order, urban cleanliness and beautification to enhance the country’s image.

The summit will take place on November 15–16, 2026, in Phnom Penh to discuss solutions to global challenges, peace and sustainable development. Cambodia will also organise two major accompanying events: the “Village de la Francophonie” and “FrancoTech”, to showcase Cambodia’s cultural, tourism and economic potential to the world.
