PREAH SIHANOUK — Villa Vie Odyssey departed Cambodia smoothly and safely during the night of November 3–4, 2026, following attentive coordination and hospitality from the Royal Government of Cambodia and relevant authorities, according to a Ministry of Tourism statement issued on November 4. Acting on Prime Minister Hun Manet’s guidance, the ministry, the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Administration, relevant ministries and institutions, law enforcement agencies and the private sector worked closely together to provide accommodation, transport, tour guides and other essential services for the vessel’s tourists, crew and staff.

The Ministry of Tourism said that, during their stay, international tourists and the vessel’s staff expressed satisfaction with and appreciation for the humanitarian spirit, friendliness and care shown by the Cambodian people, and thanked the Royal Government. Some visitors have continued staying in Cambodia and touring destinations including Preah Sihanouk province, Phnom Penh, Kampot, Siem Reap and other provinces. The ministry described the vessel’s safe arrival and departure, and the continued stay of international visitors, as evidence of Cambodia’s safety and warm hospitality and a continuation of the humanitarian legacy demonstrated when the country welcomed Westerdam under Hun Sen’s leadership. Hun Sen is now President of the Senate.

The ministry reaffirmed that it would continue working with relevant ministries and institutions, subnational administrations and the private sector to facilitate travel for international visitors from Villa Vie Odyssey who remain in Cambodia. It also thanked the relevant institutions, national and international media, content creators, influencers, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and Cambodian and foreign residents who helped promote positive images of the country. The ministry said the event had helped strengthen Cambodia’s international reputation as a safe tourism destination known for humanitarian values and warm hospitality, ready to welcome visitors from around the world.
