In response to a sharp increase in the number of people seeking driving licence replacement services, senior leaders of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport took firm measures by personally inspecting five key public service centres in Phnom Penh on November 4, 2026.

The inspection was led by Chhuon Vorn, Director-General of the General Department of Land Transport, and Teas Dararoth, Director-General of the General Department of Technology and Public Relations, with technical teams and relevant specialist officials also taking part.

The five locations inspected were the Ministry of Public Works and Transport’s public service centre; the public service centre at AEON Mall Phnom Penh (AEON I); the public service centre for driving licence replacement and driving tests at AEON Mall Sen Sok (AEON II); the public service centre at AEON Mall Mean Chey (AEON III); and the public service centre at Olympia Mall.

The main purpose of the visit was to monitor work progress, observe service delivery and immediately address challenges, both large and small, as they arose.
Through these measures, the ministry reaffirmed its commitment to making services more convenient, ensuring that people receive faster, smoother, more transparent and more effective services. By: Pai Sokhim
