Working closely with the Civil Society Alliance Forum to encourage rural children’s education, Hello Bike, through the China Foundation for Rural Development (CFRD), organised the donation of 95 bicycles to students of Ang Kamnob Primary School in Svay Kham village, Doung commune, Bati district, Takeo province, on the morning of January 2, 2026.
Kem Chanthou, Deputy Director of the Forum’s Department of Planning and Projects, conveyed remarks on behalf of its Board Chairman Kemroth Viseth. He said the 95 bicycles presented to Ang Kamnob students that day were part of a total of 2,500 bicycles and would meet transport needs and further encourage students to study actively. A bicycle was more than a simple means of transport, he added: it could save time and improve students’ lives, both for travelling to school and for uses benefiting their families.
Chen Yixian, a representative of Hello and CFRD, said the bicycle programme was part of Chinese civil society’s cooperation with the Civil Society Alliance Forum. Kemroth Viseth coordinated and encouraged the missions of Chinese civil society organisations to improve living conditions and encourage education for children in rural and disadvantaged areas. By providing suitable transport, Hello Bike and CFRD hoped students could achieve higher academic results and continue their education with greater confidence. He added that the activity was not merely a donation, but demonstrated solidarity and social responsibility by China’s private sector and civil society. Working alongside Cambodian civil society, with the Forum at its core, they sought to develop human resources and build a strong foundation for the country’s future.
On the same occasion, Doung Commune Chief Nop Touch, speaking on behalf of the management of Ang Kamnob Primary School, expressed deep gratitude to the Civil Society Alliance Forum, Hello and CFRD for responding concretely to students’ needs.
Parents and the local community also expressed delight and strong support, viewing the activity as valuable assistance for rural and low-income families. They agreed that receiving bicycles would give their children better opportunities to learn and pursue their dreams of becoming a high-quality, knowledge-based workforce and a promising next generation for Cambodian society.
