Khim Finan, Under Secretary of State at the Agriculture Ministry, congratulated the signing of an agricultural production contract worth more than US$3 million between the Damnak Trayueng Modern Chilli Agricultural Cooperative in Pursat province and Kiri Tes Farm for the production and supply of chillies, leafy vegetables and meat chickens.
He added that arranging market links in advance was a distinctive feature of modern agricultural cooperatives. It provided members with greater certainty in production and helped reduce market risks effectively, he said.
The Damnak Trayueng cooperative has 165 member households, is producing chillies on 120 hectares, and has 100 net houses for leafy vegetables and 140 coops for free-range chickens. By: Pai Sokhim
