Banteay Meanchey–Oddar Meanchey: To support the Cambodian government during difficult times in the spirit of “Khmers helping Khmers”, on January 14, 2026, Dr. Kao Thach, Royal Government delegate in charge as director-general of the Agricultural and Rural Development Bank (ARDB), and his wife, together with colleagues and donors from home and abroad, personally visited and distributed humanitarian gifts to 3,000 families temporarily staying at three separate safety centres.
The visit and meeting aimed to ease hardship and encourage people who had fled the Cambodia–Thailand border-conflict areas for safe locations in Banteay Meanchey and Oddar Meanchey provinces.
With sympathy and compassion, the delegate and his team provided food, daily necessities and essential supplies to the 3,000 war-displaced families. Each family received 50,000 riel. In addition, the donations included a total of 3 tonnes of rice, 31,000 duck eggs and 24,000 medicine tablets to help alleviate some of their difficulties.
The article described these activities as demonstrating strong national solidarity: Cambodians, whether at home or abroad, help one another and leave no compatriot alone, particularly when the nation needs people to unite. By: Pai Sokhim
