A fire at a refining site in Kampong Tralach district, Kampong Chhnang, which began at about 9 p.m. on January 20, was brought under control around midday on January 21. The report describes the firefighting effort as lasting more than 16 hours.
The district police chief said firefighters had worked throughout the night without rest, using many truckloads of water, although the number was not yet known. The blaze was controlled after noon. Damage had not yet been assessed, and one Chinese owner was injured. The chief attributed the fire to a rupture in the lower part of a tank.
The district police chief added that specialists from the Kampong Chhnang Provincial Police Commissariat’s Fire Prevention, Firefighting and Rescue Office deployed more than ten vehicles. Provincial and district firefighting units supplied nearly ten vehicles, with three additional vehicles from the Ministry of Interior.
