Two large ships carrying more than 2,000 tourists of various nationalities docked at Sihanoukville Autonomous Port on the morning of January 27 for visits around Preah Sihanouk. Destinations included areas with potential such as logistics zones, cultural and historical sites, natural coastal attractions and urban centres.
The first, SEA BOURN ENCORE, was Bahamian-flagged and carried 538 tourists, including 268 women, representing 29 nationalities. Its 409 crew included 84 women and represented 41 nationalities.
The second, NORWEGIAN SUN, was also Bahamian-flagged. It carried 1,868 tourists, including 1,005 women, of 42 nationalities, and 902 crew, including 206 women, of 48 nationalities.
The report said international visitors helped promote the province’s coast, culture and hospitality, supporting local businesses and confidence in future travel. The calls also highlighted its strategic logistics and port role in regional trade, maritime services and economic stability during a difficult period.
Both vessels arrived from Viet Nam and were due to leave Cambodia for Thailand on the evening of January 27.
