Cambodian Mine Action Centre (CMAC) Director-General Heng Ratana said an operation involved ten M46 cluster submunitions: nine were recovered and neutralised, but one exploded during recovery. The incident occurred in Chak Puok village, Sla Kram commune, Svay Chek district, Banteay Meanchey, on January 28, 2026. No personnel were injured and no machinery was damaged.
He also urged all displaced residents who had returned home in areas affected by what he described as Thai aggression and shelling to be extremely cautious around unexploded ordnance scattered across villages, rice fields and farmland. By: Chinda Titi.
