To preserve local security, social order and public safety, the governors of all six municipalities and districts in Stung Treng jointly pledged to prevent and prohibit online gambling games and all forms of illegal gambling within their jurisdictions.
The pledge was announced at a provincial unified-command meeting on January 29, 2026, attended by Stung Treng Governor Sar Soputra, representatives of judicial institutions, departments and units, municipal and district governors, enforcement personnel and relevant provincial officials.
The six governors said they would strengthen regular inspections and promptly suppress illegal gambling, particularly online games concealed on the internet or at private premises in their areas. They would also strengthen cooperation with enforcement agencies, local authorities and residents in providing information and reporting suspicious activity.
The joint pledge was described as an important step towards making Stung Treng safe, peaceful and orderly for residents and social and economic development under Governor Sar Soputra's leadership. By: Pai Sokhim.
