On the morning of January 31, under National Police chief Sar Thet’s overall arrangements, the National Police worked with Svay Rieng provincial police and with legal coordination from the provincial Court of First Instance on a concentrated operation in Bavet, dismantling a telecom-scam site.
Police reported detaining more than 100 people involved in the case, most of them Chinese nationals. All those concerned were under lawful control, and the case was being investigated and processed further.
Police said the operation followed thorough preliminary investigation and careful planning. They described orderly organisation and command as a strong blow and deterrent to telecom scams, demonstrating the determination to maintain sustained pressure on these illegal activities.
