Trade between Cambodia and Pakistan totalled US$53 million in 2025. The two sides also agreed to encourage their governments to promote further growth in trade.
The information followed a February 2, 2026 meeting between Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen and Syed Yusuf Raza Gillani, Chairman of the Senate of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
At the meeting, Hun Sen expressed a wish for Cambodia’s government to establish an official embassy in Pakistan. The two Senate chairmen also broadly agreed to encourage their governments to advance bilateral trade.
As political relations between the two countries developed, Hun Sen said they should explore further expansion of trade, economic ties and investment. According to the available figures, bilateral trade had amounted to only about US$53 million in 2025.
The two Senate chairmen also agreed on shared points between the Cambodian and Pakistani governments, particularly promoting further development of bilateral relations. Cambodia did not yet have an embassy in Pakistan, and Hun Sen supported formally opening one to strengthen ties in the interests of both peoples. By: Chinda Titi.
