Summary

The February 3–4 hybrid conference brings together more than 2,000 participants for performance reviews, tourism displays and discussions on nine main topics.

On February 3, 2026, with approval from Prime Minister Hun Manet, Tourism Minister Huot Hak opened the conference reviewing tourism-sector work in 2025 and setting directions for 2026. The two-day event runs from February 3 to 4.

The conference has three main objectives: first, to review global, regional and Cambodian tourism conditions; second, to examine, assess and summarise work achieved and not yet achieved between the 2025 and 2026 conferences, using discussion, exchanges and input from all relevant parties to identify strengths, shortcomings, challenges and practical requests; and third, to set realistic, pragmatic key measures and continuing development directions, following the approaches of “dynamism of a unified actor system” and “thinking together, acting together, sharing responsibility and sharing benefits”.

The minister described it as an open conference for the tourism family, organised in hybrid form with approximately more than 1,300 people attending in person and around 700 via Zoom, totalling more than 2,000 participants from all levels and relevant sectors.

Participants include Tourism Ministry leaders and officials, interministerial and relevant institutional representatives, capital and provincial administrations and tourism departments from all 25 capital/provincial jurisdictions, foreign diplomatic representatives in Cambodia, development partners, national and international organisations, the private sector, national and international media, and many members of the tourism family.

The 2026 conference also features exhibitions of tourism potential across the capital and provinces, tourism businesses and services, and discussions on nine main topics focusing on service quality, tourism forecasting, travel connections, digital transformation, marketing strategies and sustainable tourism.

The minister emphasised that the conference would serve as an important national platform to strengthen tourism cooperation and improve Cambodia’s regional and international competitiveness, with clear directions for sustainable, resilient and inclusive development. By: KPS99TV.
