The Italian-flagged cruise ship Costa Serena docked at Sihanoukville Autonomous Port on the morning of February 4 with about 2,895 foreign tourists of various nationalities and approximately 1,031 crew, bringing another wave of international visitors to Sihanoukville.

The call was seen as an important opportunity to attract more international visitors. Those involved said large international cruise ships not only raised Sihanoukville's tourism profile but would also sustain Cambodia's international image and appeal through tourism and business activity.

According to the report, this was Costa Serena's second arrival in Cambodia. Its first call was in May 2023 with about 1,671 tourists, while the February 4, 2026 visit brought about 2,895. The report viewed the increased number as showing Cambodia's growing appeal for cruise tourism.
