Speaking at the Ministry of Interior's annual review on February 5, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sar Sokha said recorded criminal cases nationwide fell 17 percent year on year in 2025, while the case clearance rate reached 96 percent. He said sustained, intensive enforcement had clearly improved the public-security situation and produced interim results in combating crime.
He said combating cross-border scams remained a priority. He called for stronger intelligence gathering, evidence collection, enforcement and pursuit of organisers and masterminds to break criminal chains. Operations would also target drug crime, human and labour trafficking, illegal gambling and gang violence.

He said international cooperation would continue so that foreign suspects could be repatriated and their cases handled lawfully and in an orderly manner. He praised the National Police, Interior Ministry officials and local authorities at all levels for their work over the past year in safeguarding national security, social stability and public safety.
