On the morning of February 10, Prime Minister Hun Manet reiterated, while meeting outstanding students who earned grade A in the national upper-secondary examinations, that Cambodia’s position on national borders was firm and clear. The government would never recognise a border change imposed through force, and that principle would not waver.
Hun Manet said the Cambodia–Thailand boundary was a lawful border widely recognised internationally. Cambodia would address related disputes through peaceful and lawful means based on international law rather than confrontation or conflict.
He said that despite a complex border situation, the government would take all necessary measures to defend sovereignty and territorial integrity and safeguard citizens’ lawful rights and personal safety. Cambodia would continue to handle regional affairs rationally and responsibly, protecting its long-term interests and regional peace and stability.
