Summary

At a February 10 annual conference, Mang Sineth encouraged young women to join humanitarian work and prioritised assistance to poor families, elderly women and vulnerable children.

To make the Preah Sihanouk women's association's humanitarian work in 2026 more effective and sustainable, Mang Sineth encouraged young women and a new generation of women to take part in humanitarian and social activities. He urged the nurturing of awareness of party policies and continued energy so that they can become dignified, capable human resources, participate fully in social and national development, advance the Sustainable Development Goals and contribute to Cambodia's visions for 2030 and 2050.

The Preah Sihanouk governor made the appeal at the conference reviewing 2025 results and setting 2026 directions for the provincial branch of the Cambodian Women's Association for Peace and Development and the Preah Sihanouk Women's Movement Group, held on February 10.

The governor also instructed the Preah Sihanouk branch of the Cambodian Women's Association to continue prioritising broader humanitarian work at grassroots level, especially for poor families, elderly women and vulnerable children. It should cooperate with local authorities, specialist departments and development partners to ensure assistance is appropriate, timely and effective.

It should also help publicise national programmes on women's and children's rights, protection from violence, and maternal and infant healthcare. Attention should be given to developing women's capacities through vocational training, life skills and new knowledge suited to today's social context, using creativity and new ideas to contribute to local economic development in Preah Sihanouk.

In addition, the Preah Sihanouk branch of the Cambodian Women's Association should publicise the vision of the seventh-mandate Royal Government led by Prime Minister Hun Manet, while continuing to strengthen internal solidarity, women's empowerment and good cooperation among all members to improve the association's effectiveness and strength.

Mang Sineth regarded the activities of the leaders and members of the women's association branches at every level as sacrifices of time, physical and mental effort, and financial resources. He recognised their loving, voluntary and active support for all activities of the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Administration and for national social affairs as a whole.
