Preah Sihanouk Governor Mang Sineth urged residents, traders and all visitors to the province to protect beach and roadside cleanliness through proper rubbish disposal. Bins were available along the beaches for visitors and vendors to use.
He made the appeal at a meeting with beach and roadside cleaning and gardening staff on the afternoon of February 12, 2026.
The governor stressed that clean beaches required everyone’s participation. Vendors in particular needed clean surroundings to attract more visitors and purchases; clean beaches would encourage more people to visit. He therefore urged joint cleaning efforts. He explained that people visiting the province and sitting down to eat should bag their waste and place it correctly in bins afterwards, as should vendors, making collection easier for rubbish trucks.
