On February 26, 2026, Cambodia’s Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction issued an official notice to people living in, occupying, using or benefiting from the former Padivatt Primary School building at the corner of Streets 144 and 49, Phsar Thmei 3 commune, Daun Penh district, Phnom Penh. It said the ministry would fence the structure and prohibit entry from the date of the notice onward.
The fencing was intended to alert the public and prevent risks to life and physical safety arising from the potentially dangerous condition of the building.
The ministry had already formed a working group with the Phsar Thmei 3 administration to inspect and measure the site and identify residents and users. To implement the fencing plan smoothly, it continued coordinating with local authorities on inspections and direct discussions with residents about impacts before physical fencing planned for March 3, 2026.
The ministry called on affected residents and the public to cooperate with instructions, exercise caution and act responsibly to ensure public safety and order. By: KPS99TV.
