Cambodian government spokesperson Pen Bona said on March 2, 2026, that ministries, relevant institutions and local authorities were carrying out the following work.
For conflict-displaced people able to return home, the authorities were facilitating prompt, safe returns and helping restore livelihoods. He said more than 92% of the 640,000 displaced people had returned by then.
For those still unable to return because conditions were not yet suitable, the authorities were providing support according to their circumstances to sustain daily life until they could go home.
Special working groups were assessing impacts and damage to infrastructure, including health centres, referral hospitals, markets, roads, bridges, schools, pagodas, water and electricity services and telecommunications networks, so the government could restore them as quickly as possible.
