Summary

The March 4 visit to Prey Chan village began at 13:00; the Defence Ministry reiterated Cambodia’s positions on the ceasefire, occupation allegations and related agreements.

In a March 4, 2026 afternoon statement, Cambodian Defence Ministry spokesperson Lieutenant General Maly Socheata informed the public and national and international media that the ministry had coordinated a 13:00 visit by military attachés accredited to Cambodia from 12 countries to Prey Chan village, Ou Bei Choan commune, Ou Chrov district, Banteay Meanchey. The ministry said the area had been attacked and illegally occupied by Thai troops using barbed wire and containers. The visit also examined implementation of the Cambodia–Thailand ceasefire that took effect at noon on December 27, 2025.

The ministry said that, since the ceasefire took effect, Cambodia’s government and Defence Ministry had consistently made clear commitments to fully, strictly and responsibly respect the joint declaration of the third special Cambodia–Thailand General Border Committee meeting on December 27, 2025, the October 26, 2025 joint statement on the Cambodia–Thailand peace agreement and other related agreements. The aim was early improvement and a return to normality, peace, stability and lasting safety along the border.

The statement asked the public and national and international media to take note.
