Summary

The governor visited privately supported roads in Sangkat 4 on March 8, discussing the two groups’ dimensions and drainage and urging coordinated water, electricity and cable infrastructure.

As Preah Sihanouk develops and its resident, tourist and investor presence grows, the road projects aim to improve the city’s appearance and reduce traffic congestion.

On the afternoon of March 8, 2026, Preah Sihanouk Governor Mang Sineth led a technical team including the city governor and relevant department heads to inspect two concrete roads and two further reinforced-concrete road projects in Sangkat 4, Sihanoukville. The work reflects private participation in infrastructure development for public benefit.

The two concrete roads have a combined length of more than 800 metres and a width of seven metres. Two further roads under construction extend more than 300 metres, eight metres wide, with rainwater drains on both sides. Benefactors in the province donated the projects.

Mang Sineth thanked the benefactors for contributing their own resources alongside the provincial administration to build facilities for the common public interest.

He said their contributions eased residents’ travel and improved Sihanoukville’s appearance as a tourism city and multipurpose special economic zone with diverse potential.

For durable road quality and appearance, he asked residents to help maintain the roads and technical officials to coordinate water, electricity and cable conduits and stop disorderly overhead wiring.
