On March 8, Cambodia’s Commerce Ministry announced retail fuel prices for March 8–10. Regular petrol was set at 4,400 riels per litre, about US$1.10, up 550 riels or approximately 14.29 percent. Diesel was set at 5,150 riels, about US$1.28, up 1,300 riels or 33.77 percent.
Officials said the adjustment mainly reflected recent international oil-price fluctuations. To reflect changes more promptly, the government had shortened the previous ten- or fifteen-day adjustment cycle to improve flexibility and transparency. The prices took effect on March 8 and applied through March 10.
The report said that before this adjustment, average retail prices for both petrol and diesel were about 3,850 riels per litre. The ministry said it would continue monitoring international prices and adjust domestic prices as market conditions changed.
