On the morning of March 11, 2026, Commerce Minister Cham Nimul, chair of the National Committee for Intellectual Property Management, chaired its fifteenth continued meeting at the ministry to review, discuss and comment on two national strategies:
1. The draft National Strategy for the Development and Promotion of Cambodian Geographical Indications 2026–2030.
2. The draft National Strategy for the Protection and Conservation of Genetic Resources, Traditional Knowledge and Cultural Expressions 2026–2030.
The committee’s deputy chairs and members, secretariat members from relevant ministries and institutions, and intellectual-property specialists attended.
The meeting reviewed and gave preliminary comments on the initial drafts of both strategies. It urged the secretariat to continue technical review and discussion with relevant ministries and institutions to make the drafts comprehensive and effectively implementable.
