Phnom Penh: Cambodia reported continued progress in its national home-grown school feeding programme, which was benefiting more than 300,000 pupils at 1,114 rural primary schools in ten provinces nationwide.
According to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport on March 13, 2026, the programme was being implemented through close cooperation among the ministry, the National Social Protection Council and the World Food Programme (WFP).
Nutritious meals were being provided regularly to help children obtain adequate nutrition, attend school consistently and improve their ability to learn.
The Education Ministry said that, besides improving pupils’ health and learning, the programme benefited communities by purchasing produce from local farmers, creating local jobs and strengthening community food systems.
The ministry described it as an important investment in the next generation, helping Cambodian children grow physically and mentally strong and contribute to the country’s long-term human-capital development. By: KPS99TV.
