Cambodia’s Ministry of Tourism recently issued a notice reiterating to the international community and visitors at home and abroad that the country’s political situation was stable, social order normal and the overall tourism environment safe and manageable. The ministry said the government was working to make Cambodia a safe, friendly and comfortable destination that remained open to visitors worldwide.
The notice said Cambodia placed peace and social stability at the centre of its priorities amid global geopolitical uncertainty, increasing security risks, climate change, emerging infectious diseases and online scams. It said the country was strengthening safety management for air, land and sea transport and improving the convenience and security of entry, travel and cross-border movement.
Under Prime Minister Hun Manet’s leadership, the ministry said it was working with other ministries, law-enforcement agencies and international partners to strengthen tourism safety mechanisms and increase prevention and enforcement against online scams and other crimes. It invited tourists worldwide to visit Cambodia, experience its cultural heritage and natural scenery, and enjoy the warmth and friendliness of its people.
