Village livelihoods on Koh Samraong include collecting honey associated with kapok blossoms amid extensive tree plantations, as well as tobacco cultivation. The report says residents were planting tobacco in the current season and that roads, electricity and water infrastructure had improved noticeably.
Koh Samraong is one of 15 communes in Kampong Siem district, Kampong Cham province, surrounded by the Mekong River and covering 2,997 hectares.
