Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Civil Service and Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia President Hun Many presided over blessing rituals and a ceremony welcoming the New Year angel for the Year of the Horse, អដ្ឋស័ក. Under the traditional calendar, the angel’s arrival is set for 10:48 a.m. on Tuesday, the 12th waning day of the month of ចេត្រ, corresponding to April 14, 2026.
In the traditional account, the New Year angel is Reakyaksa Devi (រាក្យសាទេវី), the third daughter of Kabel Moha Prum (កបិលមហាព្រហ្ម), residing in the celestial realm of ចាតុម្មហារាជិកា. She wears black garments, adorns her ears with lotus flowers and wears មណីរា gemstones. Her food is blood; she holds a trident in her right hand and a bow in her left, and stands with her eyes open on មនោម័យ, a horse that serves as her mount. By Pai Sokhim
