Cambodia’s General Department of Customs and Excise has called on Cambodian food manufacturers intending to export to China to prepare for new requirements and regulations issued by China’s General Administration of Customs, which will take effect on June 1, 2026.
The new rules govern the registration of overseas enterprises producing food for import into China. They aim to strengthen the safety of imported food and sustain food trade cooperation between the two countries.
The General Department of Customs and Excise urged relevant enterprises to study the new requirements and prepare to comply with them correctly to avoid disruptions to exports to the Chinese market.
According to figures attributed to the General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE), Cambodia–China trade exceeded US$5.69 billion from January to April 2025, an increase of 27.1 percent compared with the same period in 2024.
Of that total, Cambodia’s exports to China exceeded US$478 million, down 1.7 percent, while imports from China were approximately US$5.21 billion, up 30.5 percent. By: ប៉ៃ សុឃីម
