Summary

China’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security provided occupational standards books to Cambodia’s labour ministry, supporting vocational skills training and preparation for emerging industries.

The Chinese government, through its Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, provided a set of books on China’s national occupational standards to Cambodia’s Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training. The donation aims to strengthen vocational skills standards and technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in line with labour-market needs and emerging industries.

The handover took place at the Koh Pich Exhibition and Convention Centre, presided over by Labour and Vocational Training Minister ហេង សួរ and Chinese Ambassador Wang Wenbin. The report presented it as an expression of close Cambodia–China cooperation in human-resource development.

The books compile occupational standards and skills-assessment systems, organized by occupation type and skill level, to help Cambodia strengthen national standards for training and labour-market development.

They cover 16 key skill areas, including construction, metalworking and machinery, internet and telecommunications installation, electrical and electronic maintenance, motorcycle and car repairs, solar-power installation and domestic services.

Beyond improving vocational training, the standards are intended to support curricula responding to new-energy vehicle (NEV) industries and modern technologies.

As Cambodia’s electric-vehicle market grows, the standards aim to prepare workers to maintain, repair and service EVs, supporting the market and the future competitiveness of Cambodian industry.

The books were prepared and published by China’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security with contributions from more than 50 experts, detailing occupational standards and skills assessment at different levels.
