ឡុង ឌីម៉ង់ inspected two project sites on 2 July 2026. The province separately reported 14 QIP applications and 12 registrations approved in the first half of the year.

Preah Sihanouk: As the province continued to develop as an investment destination, its investment subcommittee received 14 applications to register qualified investment projects (QIPs) in the first half of 2026. It had approved registration for 12 projects, operating within the prescribed period of no more than 21 days.

The figures were given by provincial Deputy Governor ឡុង ឌីម៉ង់ while leading technical officials and relevant agencies on an inspection of two proposed new investment project sites in កំពង់សោម city on 2 July 2026.

The two projects comprise a large-scale paper and plastic printing factory, and a factory making artists’ canvas, painting frame boards, wooden easels, furniture and plywood. The sites are in បិតត្រាំង and អូរឧកញ៉ាហេង sangkats, កំពង់សោម city, Preah Sihanouk province.

As deputy chair of the provincial investment subcommittee, the deputy governor urged local authorities and relevant departments to maintain an attractive, effective investment environment through good investor relations, procedural coordination and regular advice so that projects could operate smoothly.

He also encouraged the owner of the site, which groups factories and businesses together, to consider developing it into an industrial park to improve competitiveness and attract further investment to the province.

He asked both companies to contribute to local economic and social development by attracting other investors, prioritising local residents for jobs and ensuring employees received National Social Security Fund (NSSF) services in accordance with the law.

He also urged attention to occupational safety and the working environment, including well-ventilated buildings, safe access and exits, sufficient fire-prevention equipment and more tree planting at the factories to create comfortable, sustainable conditions for employees and workers.
