On August 25, Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen met Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Cambodia, Thamer Mohammed A. Algosaibi. They discussed ways to deepen bilateral relations and expand economic, trade and investment cooperation.
Hun Sen said investment was an important area of cooperation between Cambodia and Saudi Arabia. He encouraged more Saudi companies to invest in Cambodia, particularly in agricultural processing, to help bring high-quality Cambodian agricultural products to the Saudi market.
He proposed more high-level exchanges to strengthen political trust, closer contacts between businesses and investors to expand two-way investment, and greater people-to-people exchanges and tourism cooperation to consolidate the friendship between the two countries.
Algosaibi said frequent high-level exchanges and successive visits to Cambodia by Saudi business delegations in recent years had created favourable conditions for expanding economic, trade and investment cooperation. He said considerable potential remained in these areas.
Hun Sen congratulated Algosaibi on his appointment and expressed hope that he would help advance bilateral relations during his tenure. Both sides said they would continue strengthening exchanges across sectors and create more opportunities for cooperation between their businesses.
