Sihanoukville Autonomous Port partners with FASMEC to pave the way for Cambodian products to reach the global market

On the morning of September 17, 2026, the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port (PAS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Federation of Associations of Small and Medium Enterprises of Cambodia (FASMEC), under the chairmanship of His Excellency Mang Sineth, Governor of Preah Sihanouk Province, His Excellency Lou Kimchhun, Royal Government Delegate in charge of Director General of PAS, and Neak Oknha Te Taing Phy, President of the Federation of Associations of Small and Medium Enterprises of Cambodia (FASMEC).
Neak Oknha Te Taing Phy, President of the Federation (FASMEC), stated that this MOU signing is an important event, as the backbone and driving force of the national economy, improving the livelihoods of the people. Small and medium-sized enterprises have always faced challenges with transportation costs, and the port is the heart of transportation. The port serves as a bridge to facilitate trade, streamline transportation, seek solutions and reduce costs, bring Cambodian products to market, promote domestic products, and facilitate the export of goods through the seaport.
 
His Excellency Lou Kimchhun stated that this strategic cooperation aims primarily to facilitate trade, reduce transportation and logistics costs, and streamline port procedures to enable domestic products to be highly competitive on the international stage.
The development plan for the three new container terminal berths of PAS includes:
Phase 1, with a length of 350 meters and a water depth of 14.5 meters, is scheduled for completion in March 2027. Phase 2, with a length of 400 meters and a water depth of 16.5 meters, is scheduled to begin construction at the end of 2026. Phase 3 (2027–2030), with a length of 430 meters and a water depth of 17.5 meters, is scheduled to break ground in early 2027.
His Excellency Mang Sineth, the Provincial Governor, emphasized that the Royal Government has always supported micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises through financial mechanisms, incentives, and digital transformation. In parallel, the "Special Program to Promote Investment in Preah Sihanouk Province" has been extended until the end of 2027, which to date has received 511 projects approved in principle, with a total investment capital of more than USD 8 billion. ◾ Article by: Pey Sokim
