According to the HIV Data Series: Cambodia, on average, about 3 people are newly infected with HIV per day, while approximately 3 people die per day from AIDS-related causes.
Among youth aged 15 to 24, there are on average 8 new infections per week, indicating the need to expand accurate information, preventive measures, and accessible health services for young people. Creating a safe, inclusive, and discrimination-free environment will help young people feel confident in seeking information, getting tested, and receiving necessary services, so they can make informed decisions about their health.
Although new infections and deaths have declined, these figures show that the HIV response must continue, with a focus on prevention, timely testing, treatment, and effective care.
