UK Home Office Minister to Visit Cambodia to Strengthen Cooperation Against Online Scams

Lord Hanson, a Minister of State at the UK Home Office, will visit Cambodia this week to discuss tackling online scams, fraud and transnational crime, the British Embassy in Cambodia announced on Facebook on September 22, 2026.
This will be Lord Hanson’s first visit to Cambodia. He will join international partners at Cambodia’s international conference on combating technology-enabled scams and sign a new memorandum of understanding between the UK and Cambodia to strengthen cooperation against transnational crime threats.
The minister will also meet United Nations agencies and journalists to learn about developments in scam-related issues in Cambodia. The embassy said cooperation would focus on disrupting and dismantling criminal networks, protecting vulnerable citizens and contributing to international efforts against online scams. By: Sopheak.
