Cambodia–United Nations Hold Talks in New York, Focus on Long-Standing Partnership and Cambodia–Thailand Border Update

New York: On the occasion of attending the General Debate of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in the United States on the evening of September 26, 2026, His Excellency Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, held a bilateral meeting with Mr. António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations.
During the meeting, His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister expressed deep gratitude for the friendship and strong cooperation between Cambodia and the United Nations, which has been rooted since the era of the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia (UNTAC) and has become a key driving force in advancing national development.
At the same time, His Excellency commended the skillful leadership of Mr. António Guterres in strengthening the position and role of the United Nations amid a rapidly evolving world full of uncertainties and major global challenges over the past decades.
On that occasion, both leaders took the opportunity to exchange views and discuss attentively the situation and latest developments along the Cambodia–Thailand border as well.
