Cambodia and Cuba Sign New Memorandum to Strengthen Tourism Cooperation

Siem Reap: Cambodia’s Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Cuba signed a memorandum of understanding on tourism cooperation, aimed at strengthening collaboration and expanding relations in the tourism sector between the two countries. The agreement was signed by His Excellency Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, and Ms. Milena Caridad Zaldívar Piedra, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to the Kingdom of Cambodia, in Siem Reap province, under the high permission of the Royal Government of Cambodia.

Through this memorandum, both sides will have a framework to promote tourism cooperation, the exchange of experiences and knowledge, as well as the sharing of best practices in the tourism sector. In particular, this cooperation will open opportunities for Cambodia to expand and diversify its tourism market to the Latin American region, based on the principles of equality and mutual benefit.
It should be noted that Cambodia and the Republic of Cuba have maintained diplomatic relations since 1960, and as of 2026, the relationship between the two countries has lasted 66 years. The signing of this memorandum of understanding on tourism cooperation is a step toward strengthening relations and enhancing cooperation between Cambodia and Cuba in the tourism sector. By: Sophak
