In November, Phnom Penh will host a major international fintech event—the 2026 Black Swan Summit. According to public information, the summit is scheduled for November 15-16 at the OCIC Exhibition Center on Diamond Island, co-hosted by the National Bank of Cambodia and relevant international institutions.
Why is this summit attracting attention? Because the topics on the agenda are increasingly tied to daily life, covering digital payments, cross-border payments, artificial intelligence, digital assets, insurance, and wealth management. In short, it explores how money can move more conveniently and safely in the future.
One focus will be Bakong, the digital payment system Cambodia has been actively developing in recent years. The National Bank of Cambodia also hopes to use this international event to give overseas guests a better understanding of the development and application of Cambodia's digital payments.
At the same time, the summit will discuss cross-border payments and international business cooperation. For ordinary consumers, if payments between different countries become more interconnected in the future, traveling abroad, spending overseas, and cross-border transactions could all become more convenient.
Notably, during the summit, Cambodia will also host the 20th Summit of La Francophonie, with several international events taking place in Phnom Penh. International participants from finance, technology, investment, and other sectors are expected to attend.
From digital payments to artificial intelligence, and on to cross-border finance, this Black Swan Summit is not only an industry conference but also a window through which the outside world can observe the development of Cambodia's digital economy and fintech.
