The Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training has achieved another new milestone in promoting Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) standards in Cambodia through the signing of a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the British global assessment service body AQA. The official signing ceremony and discussion took place on the afternoon of September 29, 2026, under the chairmanship of Mr. Heng Sour, Minister of Labor and Vocational Training, and Mr. Shaun Crowley, Director in charge of international affairs at AQA, according to a local media release dated September 30, 2026.
This strategic cooperation focuses on developing training standard packages, strengthening the assessment system, and ensuring the quality of learning to meet international standards. Beyond that, both sides will establish a direct network between TVET institutions in Cambodia and the United Kingdom to exchange experiences and train the Cambodian workforce with high-level skills to respond promptly to the real demands of modern industry and technology.
On that occasion, Minister Heng Sour expressed high appreciation for AQA's commitment to bringing world-class educational experience and standards to share in Cambodia, which greatly enhances public and employer confidence. Similarly, Mr. Shaun Crowley also expressed his pleasure and regarded this MoU as a strong starting point in contributing to further sustainable development of human resource capacity and qualifications in Cambodia.
