Phnom Penh, Cambodia is set to host a major international summit. To ensure the smooth running of the 20th Francophonie Summit, Cambodia has deployed nearly 20,000 security personnel and conducted large-scale security drills ahead of the event.
According to reports, these security forces will be stationed at the airport, conference venues, major roads and related activity zones, focusing on safeguarding heads of state, government delegations and international dignitaries during their stay in Phnom Penh, while maintaining public order across the city.
The summit will be held in Phnom Penh from November 15 to 16, with a Francophonie ministerial conference scheduled for November 14. This is the first time Cambodia has hosted the Francophonie Summit, and leaders and representatives from 90 member states and governments will discuss international cooperation, multilateralism and sustainable development, among other topics.
Beyond security, Cambodia is also stepping up preparations for media services and news coverage. Information Minister Neth Pheaktra recently briefed delegations on the media services being prepared for the summit, indicating that all preparatory work is moving forward comprehensively.

The summit's theme is "Investing Again in Peace for Shared Prosperity and Lasting Stability." Side events including the Francophone Village and Francotech will also be held, allowing diplomatic, cultural, technological and trade and economic exchanges to take place simultaneously.
With the summit approaching, Phnom Penh is entering "international summit mode." This high-level international event to be held in the country for the first time will also serve as an important window to showcase Cambodia's image and strengthen international exchanges.
