No service fee, prior registration or document presentation is required
To facilitate travel and reduce the financial burden on citizens during the 2026 Pchum Ben Festival, a Khmer national tradition, Samdech Techo Hun Sen has announced that citizens can use the public bus service free of charge for five days, from October 9 to October 13, 2026. This public service arrangement reflects the Royal Government's care in helping facilitate citizens' travel during the national traditional festival.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen confirmed that riding the bus during this designated period does not require citizens to pay a service fee, pre-register, or present an ID card or any other documents. This measure makes it convenient for all citizens to use public transportation without complicated procedures and helps reduce travel costs during the festival season.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen also invited fellow citizens, aunts, uncles, elders and grandparents to use the public bus service offered free of charge, safely and comfortably. Providing free transportation during the festival is also part of facilitating citizens' livelihoods and travel as people prepare to travel to reunite with family and observe national traditions.
